I went end of placement celebratory shopping yesterday so most of this stuff will be staying on the 'I wish' list and not being bought as I bought enough items yesterday! However I do love all the items in this post and could quite easily see them all hanging in my wardrobe.

So now it's half term which excites me beyond belief, I get to sleep in past 6.30am during the week, see my BFF and her gorgeous little boy, have my boy come down and visit after 6 weeks of not seeing him and celebrate our 4 year anniversary. I have already fallen in love with half term! If you get half term off, do you have any plans?

Nail art: Konad

This is my first attempt at Konad, I got some image plates etc for my birthday and it took me a while before I decided to try it out. So it's tricky, but not impossible tricky, it just needs practice. As you can see I missed the tip of my middle finger but managed to get all the others lined up okay. I really like how it looks, and it's actually quite quick to do so I'm sure I'll be using these a lot over the next few weeks.

Last few days on placement, it's all gone so quickly, to start with I was counting down to the days until half term because the early morning are a killer and the workload never stops. But now I don't want it to end! I'm excited for half term though, I have an assignment to do but I've decided to take half term off and relax and enjoy it and see friends and my boy and just chill! Then I can stress afterwards.

Sophie Kinsella: Mini Shopoholic.
For the first time in a fair few months I'm not going to rave about a book I've read this month. I've read the whole series of these books, I loved them when they started, not as in loved like I love my favourite author but really enjoyed reading the first few books and even up until the one before this one. This one however I just couldn't get into, I found the main character annoying for the first time and her child annoying and the storyline annoying... it was just annoying. Up until the last few chapters which I actually did enjoy. But does enjoying the last few chapters of a book make the book worth reading? When you've spent the whole month struggling to read more than ten pages at a time?! Don't get me wrong it's not the worse book in the world, or the least favourite book I've read... trust me I have a fair few! It's a okay book, and some of you may enjoy it. I just didn't. Maybe it's series overkill?

Anyway enough of the ranting and confusion, have any of you read this book? What are you views?

Have you all had snow? We haven't had any down here and we're not forecast any, to be honest I'm quite relieved, I don't want it to effect my last 4 days of placement! I can't believe I only have four days left, I'm actually really sad. Plus I don't want to go back to university after half term. Boo to university. Hope you're all having a good weekend!

January: Buy of the Month

I haven't bought anything clothes wise since I started placement, so this item actually comes from the first few days of the year. It's from Primark (again! All my 'buy of the month' items have been so far!) So I bought this for when I'm on placement mostly, I just though it was so pretty the scallop detailing and the collar and sleeves, along with the layering and the cute buttons how could I not buy it? It was £10 which I thought was pretty reasonable for such a nice items.

What's your best buy this month? Can you believe it's the end of January already? This year seems to be flying by already. Soon I'll be searching for a job, they are start being advertised after half term and then a whole loads more after Easter. I'm nervous already!

Buys: Sale goodies

Generally I'm not a sales kind of person, I can't handle the crowds or searching the racks to find nothing in your size. This year I decided to have a look around the sales though (instead of the online ones) and risked the shops. So I stepped into Accessorize basically as soon as it opened and it was basically empty - bliss! By the time I'd selected these two necklaces and a ring however it was rammed, I fought my way to the tills then battled to get out the shop and remembered exactly why I hate sales shopping!

I do however love these two necklaces that I picked up, the globe spins round like a real one and the sand timer works too! I grabbed this ring just as I was about to pay because I loved the size and colouring of it. All of these were half price, I can't remember exactly how much they ended up being (I should of done this post sooner!).

We booked our hotel for Prague this weekend, so now all we have to do is travel insurance! I can't wait until half term when the boy comes to visit and we can research more about where to visit! I've written all my goals for 2012 down in a notebook too so I can keep track of them. In a few months I might do a post of my progress. Prague was one of the goals! So it's going well so far !

So when I saw a reasonably pretty sky Monday morning this week, it brightened my day some what. So from there I decided to check out the sky at 7.20am every working day and take a picture. I get up at 6.30am and leave just before half 7 for placement, that time of the morning is generally depressing unless it has a pretty sunrise. This week started well, although by Wednesday when it was throwing it down and still looking like night time outside, I didn't feel much like taking a picture. I did though, just to see how the week progressed. So I'm going to give this a try next week as well, hopefully the mornings will start to get less depressing soon!

I've had a pretty hectic week, 2 observations, one from my CTM and then one from a tutor at university. Everyone was so nervous for that one but all four of us good good feedback so that was a relief! And no more maths planning for a couple of weeks, now I'm onto literacy which I find a lot less stressful! So tell me about your week?

Nail art: Mix and match

Just a quick post, these nails were from a while ago, I just didn't get round to posting them. I was testing my nail art pen when I first got it, and ended up doing this design on my nails. Quite simple but I liked it. This post is scheduled, at this moment I'm probably making resources for more maths lessons, or getting distracted and not doing that. Grey's Anatomy is too distracting.

Oh and in other news the boy and I have got flights book for a few days in Prague in July, so I'm not wishing half the year away! Hurry up July!!

I know it's just after Christmas, but there's always something you'd still like isn't there? Or am I the only greedy person out there?! Most of this stuff is pretty self explanatory, they're pretty. The Roald Dahl collection isn't so pretty but I think it'd be something perfect for me to have whilst teaching.

Finished my first week of placement and we're all counting down to half term (including the teachers) 3 weeks 4 days of school to go! It's been really good so far though, so I hope it keeps going like this.

Any plans for the weekend? I'm planning... Maths lessons. Yuk.

Cecelia Ahern: The Time of my Life.
Now I'm not going to lie, any Cecelia Ahern books always have a jump start on any other book. I'm a huge fan so when it comes to rating her books they always start at a 3 and end up at a 5 rather than starting at 1 and maybe making a 5. I do however feel that the fact that I will literally sit up all night reading her books speaks for itself. I can't put them down I get so caught up in the story, the magic, the characters and everything. Then it ends and there's always that amazing quote near the end of her stories which stick with you. This one... has a whole paragraph! This is a typical Ahern book, magic mixed in with real life. I loved it and I already want to read it again.

Nail Art: Festive Period

Just a quick post to show you a few nail designs I've been wearing over the holidays. The first is my Christmas day design, sporting the standard red and green colours, and I attempted a splatter Christmas tress which you can just about figure out is a Christmas tree.

The second set were done with a little help from my boyfriend, I sponged the colours on and then recruited him for number and firework duty. Didn't he do a great job? We need to hurry up and live together so he can do my nails every week!

I've been looking at flights these past few days, I' desperate to go and explore somewhere, I can't go anywhere until my course is finished but it's still nice to look. We're thinking about going to Prague for a long weekend in July, has anyone ever been?

Wow lots of pictures this month, I think Christmas season comes and I can't stop snapping away. Anyway Christmas is over now and I'm back at university, 6.20am this morning I was seriously not impressed with being back at university. I start placement again next week too, I feel pretty unprepared but hopefully it'll be fine.

On another note, I have a new diary, is it just me that gets excited about having a new diary? I just love it being all shiny and new, and filling in important dates. It's pretty too, which is always a plus. Hope you all had a lovely New Years and you're already tackling those 2012 goals/resolutions. I haven't properly made mine yet, but I might buy a small notebook and write some down and see how I go with them. I have a few big goals: Pass my PGCE, get a job and move in with my boy. I haven't got much further than those yet though.

Anyway I best head off, I need to catch up with Eastenders, I'm a week behind! And I've also become addicted to Grey's Anatomy, I've just finished the first season, I love it. Does anyone else watch it?

I took this outfit a few days before Christmas, but I did actually wear these leggings on Christmas Day, they are so comfortable I am actually debating buying a pair to sleep in (yes that's comfy!)

Nail Art: Winter Wonderland

Just thought I'd post the quick winter nail designs I did last week although I ended up keeping them on for a ridiculous amount of time, some nail art you just can't let go of. I did love the little snowman a little too much.

I've been wrapping Christmas presents all day, I hate it. Really hate it. I always leave it to the last minute and realise I should of done them as I bought them because then I wouldn't have to spend hours on the job from hell. Anyway it's done now, so it's time to relax a little bit (and plan a research project).

I doubt I'll be posting again before Christmas, so all that is left to say is HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

I've had these photo's kicking around for a while, I took them during my placement and thought it'd be nice to post them. I would never wear this outfit day to day, but it's one a bit smarter and the type of thing I wear when I'm teaching. So I thought I'd share. I love this blouse with it's cute little apple design and I got in on ebay for a couple pounds! Bargain!

In other news I PASSED MY QTS TESTS! YAY! So relieved, it just means it's another thing I can stop thinking about. Also there are been some lovely posts about the meet in Bristol last week, I have no photo's from it so I'm just going to link you to Lyzi's, Kim's, and Steph's posts.

Christmas Decorations Galore

Just a quick post to show you the Christmas grotto which is my house. It's pretty much everywhere, tinsel here, tinsel there, 3 ft Santa over there. You know how it goes, it's Christmas and the decorations are fun! Sorry I haven't been around posting, things got busy and I've been revising for my tests for the past few days, as this is a scheduled post, I'm currently sat taking my tests as this post goes live. So wish me luck! I'd love to pass these all first time.

Are you all ready for Christmas? I haven't wrapped anything yet, I dread it. I love making the tags/bows but when it comes to actually wrapping, I'd rather sit through Lord of the Rings. (sorry - really not a fan).

Nail Art: Colourful Leopard

Just a quick nail art design I put together, decided to not just do a one colour leopard print but throw in some other colours too. Pretty self explanatory but leopard nail art designs don't seem to grow old. I have also done a winter nail art design which you can check out over here on the lovely Sarah's blog.

It was my last day at university today, I've now officially broken up for Christmas break, it feels so nice to know I won't be seeing 6am for a few weeks. I am also off to Bristol tomorrow with some lovely girls and I can not wait!! But now I need to focus on packing, I always forget something!

Lust List: Knitwear

I'm am so in love with all the snuggly knitwear that is around in every shop at the moment, and however much Primark serves my needs for cheaper knitwear there are so many others that I'd love to purchase. Although I'll be honest I'd never purchase the the Reindeer jumper at the price it's currently retailing, saying that, there really aren't enough Christmas jumpers on the high street right now. I purchased some Christmas leggings, which I love but I think I need to finish off the Christmas theme with a Christmas jumper. I'd love a cheesy one, Bridget Jones style!

I have 3 days left at University before I break up for Christmas holidays and I'm so looking forward to the break, even if I do have a research project to plan over the break. Oh and before I forget I did a guest post over at the lovely Amy's blog, so check it out.

Buy of the Month

These are my new most favourite boots in the whole world! I've been looking for some nice winter boots online and couldn't really find any that took my fancy so when I went into Primark and spotted these I had to grab them and try them on. They are honestly the most comfortable boots I think I've ever put on my feet. They were £20, and come to just below my knee and are so warm and snug, my feet are honestly in love. I took them home and wore them around the house for the rest of the day because I didn't want to take them off!

Jumper, Coat and Boots: Primark | Jeans: River Island | Scarf, necklace and ring: Gifted

It feels like forever since I've done an outfit post, I honestly couldn't remember where/how to stand in front of the camera. This is just one of my basic University outfits, comfy and warm is the point of this outfit. I'm in love with this scarf, my friends knitted it for me as a birthday present, the colour is gorgeous and it's just so snuggling and warm. Both the items of jewellery are gifts from my birthday too, I've had to stop wearing large rings these past week though because it's cold and I need my gloves... large rings and gloves don't work well together!

Some of you might of noticed I've switched over to Disqus as well, I've noticed it on a few blogs and spoken to a few people about it and finally decided to switch, it just makes it so much easier to reply to you all. Anyway time to go and enjoy the start of the weekend... or maybe do some revision for my QTS tests.

Nail art: Sripes

So thanks to this tutorial I managed a stripe nail design using scotch tape and it didn't go terribly wrong. I actually really loved wearing this design I think the colours work especially well.

SO have you all had a good weekend? I went to Monkey World yesterday with my bestie and her gorgeous baby boy. It was really great, especially because we didn't have to battle any crowds to get near the windows/fences to actually see the monkeys - from now on I'm definitely going in the winter!

Today our outside Christmas decorations are finally complete and we're putting up the tree! I love Christmas, I will have to take some pictures because my house is actually over run with Christmas decorations! Have you all got your tree up now?

Maggie O'Farrell - The distance between us
I had never read a book by Maggie O'Farrell before, so I had no expectations apart from the fact that it was 'The Sunday Times bestseller' spread across the front. The blurb intrigued me, and it was £1.50 in a charity shop so I figured 'why not?'. Basically the story has two stories which come together, two different people's perspectives. The only issue I have with this is that I always favour one story and end up skim reading the other. So at the start was a little slow, but eventually when the stories combine I was hooked, I was constantly wondering how they were going to merge, how the characters were going to meet and when they finally did it was brilliant.

Anyone else read any Maggie O'Farrell stories? Are the others as good?

Not many pictures this month although these pretty much do some up my month, eating, Christmas shopping and uni work. My work count has reached it's limit, I need to proof read a few dozen times. We have just got back from buying more pretty Christmas decorations and I've nearly finished Christmas shopping. I did take the easy way out and order most of it online though!

Had the day off University today because of the strike which has been really useful, I have extra time to work on my assignment and other work. Oh and do my nails!!

Grow your own Sakura tree

This is a birthday present that I couldn't wait to try, I mentioned it in my last post and when I read the outside I was pretty sceptical. I was pretty sure it'd look rubbish and nothing like a real Sakura tree and I'd be really disappointed. But alas it did what it said on the tin... packet...! Basically you put open it up and poor the 'magic water' as I like to call it over the top and wait. These images are it's gradual growth over 24 hours and a week later it still looks the same with only a few bits starting to drop off of it.

Now did you all have a good weekend? I've been suffering from the aftermath of this cold, it all went to my chest and I am so sick of coughing and feeling like my lungs are going to explode through my chest and having a head from coughing so much! But hopefully I'll not over the worst of it. A close family member is also in hospital at the moment so I'm a little distracted from things.

I have an easier week this week, my assignment deadline was extended which means I have managed to get an extra few people to proof read it for me (I am the worse proof reader in the world!) and I have wednesday off because of the strike. Apparently our lecturers are supporting us as future teachers, who knows but I'll take the day off!

Birthday Special

This pretty much sums up my birthday minus the three amazing meals which I took 0 pictures off. Oops. Anyway the birthday feels like forever ago now, I'm already bored of being back at university - take me back to placement please)! I've been trying to catch up on blogs but the other night photobucket images wouldn't load and then I hit 'mark all as read' by accident. One of those days.

Although to be honest today was also one of those days, today we drove to uni, missed the junction.... by 13 miles.... Yes we drove 13 miles past the exit before realising we'd missed it. Talk about stupid, actually 'talking' was the reason we missed it but anyhow. Let's just say, you could definitely tell it was Friday!

Nail Art: Practise makes perfect

I've been lazy and not sorted the pictures from my birthday to make a blog post so I thought I'd just do a quick post on how I practise nail art designs before actually doing them on my own nails. As I mentioned here, I've had a few fail attempts at nail design, and I really despise the waste of nail polish and time when a design goes wrong. So I decided to put some cheap fake nails from ebay to practise of first.

So every design I want to try, I try with the colours I want to use to see how they'll work. Sometimes certain polishes don't work well together, or with scotch tape so this is really handy to practise on first. I find it so much easier giving it a try on fake nails first anyway, especially when I'm not exactly sure if the colours will go or how you actually achieve the design.

I'm back at university now, and hopefully I'll be able to catch up on all your blog posts soon. I am so close to finishing this assignment I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel... as they say! Today it's my birthday, and I will be spending it eating lots, spending lots of time with the boy and going for a Mexican this evening. You know sometimes you look back in the outfit pictures and think, 'how do they all look so ridiculous?' so I just thought I'd share a few from the last few outfits which went wrong.

1) I call it the robot dance. 2) Wind is my enemy

You see my little buzzy friend that decided to join me in this photo? I wasn't a fan hence my quick exit from the shot.

And finally I lost my balance on the end of the plant pot, kind of looks like I'm flying though which would be crazy cool.

There's just a few that I remember, I'm sure I could fine a heap more from previous outfit posts but I used to delete them all, now I find them amusing and thought I'd share. How was everyone's weekend? And the beginning of the week?

It's my last week on placement, and I'm teaching lots of lessons and have a big observation so I'm a little stressed. But it's my birthday this weekend and my boy is coming down so I'm excited for that. Plus I seem to make my birthday about eating out lots, Nando's, Mexican and Carvery. Hello not fitting in my jeans next week.

Hopefully I'll be able to blog and read blogs a bit more after this week as well, I feel really behind and can't wait to be commenting properly again

Obsessed: Rings

I have a bit of a 'thing' for rings, if I walk in to a jewellery section it's more than likely that I won't even look at any other types of jewellery and will end up with another ring to my collection. These are some absolute favourites which I seem to wear on rotation.

The duck ring is for obvious reasons my favourite ring and is from Temporary Secretary, who in fact fixed my duck ring when he broke a few weeks back which was really lovely them. I wear him loads... I've even named him... but lets not get into that.

The Paris badge ring is from Dainty Roses and is so adorable, when I saw it I knew I had to have it. I love the style and the fact that it's a badge, there are loads of other styles on the website and I have a couple of these style rings. This is definitely my favourite design though.

The stone ring is from H&M I brought it when they first launched their online shop in the UK, it's a little bulky and heavy but fits my finger really well as most rings even in 'small' are too big. I nearly bought the blue one, but now I'm glad I have this white one because I have loads of colour rings and sometimes it's nice just to have something a bit plainer.

The next blue stone ring, I think I got from Australia.... although I'm not a hundred percent on that. It's too big, but I still wear it loads, the colour is so pretty and love the cage style for the ring.

This last ring... is a ring just to clear that up first although I know it doesn't look like one from the picture. But it's a big flower ring made from sort of netting type material, it's from Primark and I just love that's it's really different and the pattern of the fabric is really pretty too.

Nail art: Ombre Nails

As I'm on placement at the moment I didn't want to go too crazy with the nail art, as it doesn't seem appropriate. But I thought instead of just using a plain colour I'd try some ombre nails. I basically just started with the normal colour on my thumb. Then on some tin foil mixed it with one drop of white, then two, then three etc. Until I got a light lilac colour for the last nail. I quite like how it looks, it's quite subtle but not plain and boring!

So I managed to get another 1400 words done on my assignment and finish my weekly reflections as well as doing some Christmas and Birthday shopping over the weekend and now I'm back on my placement. I'm actually really looking forward to the 1st December (Not just for the advent calendar) but because my assignment will be handed in and done with by then! Any plans for the week? Anything exciting?

Absence makes the heart grow fonder doesn't it?! It actually feels strange not blogging even for just a few days. In case any of your don't know, I started placement on Monday so what with having to be in school for 8am, leaving at 5pm and coming home to do Directed Activities/Planning and that 6000 word assignment that I still need to complete, I just haven't had the time to think about blogging. I think it'll probably be the same for the next couple of weeks unless I manage to schedule some over the weekend.

Sadly I also don't get home before it's dark, but luckily I had these outfit pictures on my camera from last week and thought I'd share. I got these Brogues a few weeks ago when River Island were having a sale and they were down to £12! Cheaper than Primark brogues so I couldn't exactly refuse. I'm still so in love with these blue jeans although still too scared to wear them with any other colour.

What have you all been up to this week? Or what are you doing this weekend? I am 1400 words of my assignment which I'd like to write and some planning to do. I'm teaching a whole class numeracy lesson next week! Keep you're fingers crossed for me that it goes well!!

The Beach - Alex Garland: Firstly my book doesn't look like the one above, I have no idea what the cover looks like because it doesn't have one! It was passed on to me from a friend who took it travelling and let's say it's a little worse for wear, but I love it. There is just something about a book that is worn, it shows that so many other people have enjoyed it previously, it really makes a book a book for me! Anyway onto the actually book, I love it! There isn't really much else I could say, my friend said I HAD to read it because after travelling I'd appreciate it more. The writing is incredible and the story is different from anything I've read before, I was so hooked, I even wanted my train journeys to University to be longer so I could read more!

Now is there anyone who has read the book and watched the film? I've not watched the film, and I'm not sure if I should or not? It seems like it's quite different from the book from what I can tell. So if any of you have seen/watched both, should I bother with the film.

12 - Gorgeous day even if it was freezing cold
13 - Found a train ticket from a year ago in my blazer pocket
14 - The baby ducklings are all grown-up and have made friends with other ducks that live on the stream
15 - Word count at the beginning on day 4 of assignment writing.
16 - Word count at the end of day 4. And as it stands now - just over half way!

Not been an especially exciting month, lots of uni, lots of uni work and assignment writing and now half term. Just sneaking in a blog post whilst the boy plays the new Batman game! So now I'm off to catch up on all your blog posts! Hope you all have a good weekend.

Nail Art: Tiger stripes

Yay some nail art that went reasonable to plan, i followed this youtube video but just changed the colour slightly because I'm a little bit in love with these to metal colours. I used the brush part of the nail art pen, although to be honest I don't actually rate it that highly, the pen itself is awesome, but the end to the brush is jagged and not easy to keep a smooth line so if I was to do something like this again I'd probably use a separate thin nail art brush, I brought a set from ebay not so long ago. Also apologises for the extremely dry hands, I think the windy/colder weather is taking it's toll!

I have reached 3,200 words!!! And I'm currently at the boys house, he was working from home and I wrote my essay and now we're going to play The Sims 3! We're too cool. We're also off to London tomorrow to do some shopping, and I'm going to forget about this Literature Review for the rest of the week. Hope you're all having a good week, what have you been up to?

Things I love: Autumn

These are my 3 favourite things about autumn. Although I will say the fireworks one is a little debatable, as much as I love them my dog hates them and I hate seeing her so scared so it's a bit of a love hate relationship. Autumn for me is all about the gorgeous colours, chilly mornings, wrapping up in chunky knits and layers and listening to the rain on the window whilst wrapping up under a blanket. I'm pretty sure it's my favourite season although summer (when we get one) is a close second.

I'm writing this on Sunday evening having written 1000! Actually proud of myself although I'm not sure how many of the 1000 words I'll keep. And I'm hoping by the time this posts I'll have another 500-700 under my belt. So anyway tell me what is your favourite season and what do you love about autumn?

Cardigan, Skirt, Vest and boots: Primark | Leggings: Topshop | Rings: H&M and DIY

Primark overload on this outfit I feel. I spotted this skirt a few weeks ago, there was a jumper too but I wasn't sure I could pull a jumper off in this pattern but fell in love with the skirt, I instantly pictured thick woolly tights, boots, scarf, coat and gloves alas it is not quite cold enough for all that just yet.

I have never been so glad for half term/the weekend, I have a cold and am feeling rubbish so took advantage and slept until 10am this morning, the longest lie-in in over 5 weeks. Am trying to clear this cold as much as possible because I just can't seem to do assignment research/plans with my head feeling like mush!

Any plans for the weekend? I'm just assignment writing, need to get as much done as possible before I go see my boy on Tuesday evening! My aim is 2000 words (although I still have 6 research journals to read) so wish me luck!

Nail art: When it goes wrong

So today I thought I'd show you a design that just didn't really work. I think in principle it'll work, it's just I picked the wrong polishes to work with. Note to self: Don't use Rimmel and scotch tape together. Because they ended up a massive smudge fest. Also I learnt that trying to save a design that you spent quite a lot of time on, doesn't work either, dots or mate polish won't cover the smudges and uneven lines.

This design only just latest long enough on my nails to take pictures before I wiped them clean and started again. Annoying. I've been spending my day reading research paper after research paper for my literary review which is due next month. 6000. How depressing. Luckily my boy /my proof reader is visiting the week before it's due, so he has the fun job of reading it through.

It has got so cold today! I am sat here with hot water bottle which I keep having to refill to keep warm! Not sure I'm ready for winter yet.

This post is scheduled so I hope this works. But if it does, I'm still travelling back from placement, but thought I'd line up an outfit post. I am in love with these jeans, Charlotte told me about them and they were in the sale. They are like jeans but so soft and so comfortable I could live in them every day... I won't though that would be gross.

Anyone got anything exciting planned for this week? I can't wait until half term next week, time to catch up on work, start my 6000 word assignment and see the boy!

This is from Primark and was £24.99 I think, I know pretty steep for Primark but I saw it as I was walking through and it caught my eye and that was it before I knew it I was walking out the shop with it in a bag! (paid for obviously!) I had a similar blazer in this lust list post but I really loved the detailing on the back of this one and the buttons too.

These images I have had sat in my blog folder for ages, and I thought it was about time they saw the light of day. Just a simple design using the good ol' dotting tool, I wish I'd used the light blue again inside the black dots rather than silver. But hey, that can be a design for another day. I do love these colours together though.

Did you all have a good weekend? I spent mine doing lots of University work and watching X-Factor and Strictly Come Dancing! I'm not normally an X-factor watcher but I got dragged in after seeing all the tweets about it on twitter.

This is my last week at University before I go on placement... well I go a quick week placement, then half term and then my proper first placement. Getting all too real now, although I'm looking forward to getting out of lecture halls and into the classroom. Hope you all have a good week.

When I have my own place, I think I'm going to literally cover every wall with them, they look so awesome! My boy has the Totoro decal on his wall which looks so awesome, they do dust bunnies ones which I would love. There are so many amazing looking ones that I would have trouble picking just a few!

Finally time to bring out the knitwear, not that I didn't enjoy the lovely summer weather. But when you put your head into your autumn wardrobe and then summer pops up again I struggled to work out what to wear. Now however it's starting to chill out a little bit and I heard rumour Scotland could have snow? :O So I dragged the knitwear back out for my 7am start at the train station.

I sat through a lecture on Tuesday about blogging, where we had to set up our own blog. As you can imagine I found it thrilling, and no matter how many times my lecturer asked 'does anyone blog?' I'm not ready to show off my blog to a group of people I met last week! Apparently blogging has become huge in schools lately, who knew!?

Yesterday I also had the pleasure of meeting up with the lovely Rosie and Kim again, and meeting Michelle for the first time for a few drinks! Such lovely ladies, we must do it again!

The first thing I should probably say is that I didn't do these nails. Well I did the easy part the painting them brown and then I let me my boy take over! I handed over the nail polish, brushes and the nail art pen and here's what he did. I seriously can not wait until we're living together just so I can get him to paint my nails every week!! I haven't told him that, that'll be his job yet though... Not sure he'll agree. Oh the Japanese letters say 'Domo-Kun' by the way.

Did you all enjoy the sunshine over the weekend? I enjoyed looking at it through my window whilst I did Uni work! Why was the sun not here in August when I had no work to do? Oh well it's still lovely to see.

Lust list: Autumn faves

Yes even though the weather is gorgeous, and hot and perfect for all those summer outfits we didn't get to wear during the actual summer my head is still focusing on Autumn fashion. I can't get enough of the coloured jeans, I actually ordered these Berry jeans after being convinced by Charlotte of how amazing they are. They arrived yesterday and they really are amazing!

The second week of my course is finished! It's going quick, and the word load is getting more! We just found out our first placement and mine isn't too far, well... it's quite far but luckily we do this placement in pairs and the other girl drives past my town on the way so we're going to split petrol and she'll pick me up! Everyone in my group is seriously so lovely, most of us went out for a drink Thursday evening and enjoyed the evening sunshine, although if you follow me n twitter you'll know I came back with nearly a dozen insect bites on my legs after only a couple hours. AND I had tights on! Pesky bugs, the bites itch so bad :(

Have you all had a good week? All watched the new Gossip Girl episode? I just want they to release the whole season so I can watch it all one after the other!! I hate having to wait until next week!

David Nicholls - One day.
Yes yes I know, everyone and their Mother has now heard of this book, or the film anyway. When the film was released I decided it was about time I read it for a second time! Refresh my mind before watching the film... of which I haven't actually seen. After reading it all about I fell in love with the book again, and now the idea of watching the film just wasn't so appealing.

I remember opening this book for the first time, and after turning past the first few pages I found the one thing that told me this book was instantly going to be amazing! A Philip Larkin poem. My favourite Philip Larkin poem. The Philip Larkin poem I have lines from tattooed on my arm. I read the poem for the hundredth time and thought 'This book is going to be amazing!' And it was, and I'm not going to go on about it, because I think most of you will of read it/seen the film. But if you've only seen the film then read the book and if you've read the book, pick it up and give it another read through, I promise it's just as good the second time round.

So finding time to update my blog is going to be tough this year I fear. I'm on the train at 7am and don't get home until 6pm 4 days a week, and then have work to do each evening. But I am going to try and keep posting as much as possible. This weekend the boy is down to visit so I've been enjoying spending time with him. We went into town this morning and I caved and bought The Sims 3 for the Xbox, I've just finished making my character and the boy is making his whilst I write this post.

Anyway this outfit is from my week on placement the other week, lucky I had taken this pictures as I haven't had a chance yet this week. It's all old stuff, but sometimes I love delving into my wardrobe to find items you haven't seen in weeks... months!

Now it's time to move our sims into their home so I best wrap this up! I'll hopefully be catching up on all your blogs Monday as I have a day off, (even though I have lots of work to do already!) Yes yes the leopard print nails are back, it's been a while since I last attempted leopard print. During the Models Own 50% off sale they did a few weeks back, I decided to buy one of their nail art pens. So this is the first attempt with the nail art pen which I'm actually loving. I might have to have a hunt on ebay for a whole set of different colours !!

Thank you for all your lovely comments about my PGCE, it's been quite a tough week. What with it being a 2 hours commute to and from uni each day. However I am really enjoying it so far, so hopefully my enthusiasm with keep going and my hatred for public transport won't take over! Hope you're all having a good week

DIY: Scrapbooking

I'm pretty sure I have mentioned before on my blog that I decided to make a scrapbook of my travels earlier in the year. I had a ridiculous amount of photo's, I think I hit the 5000 mark, so over the past few months I've been gradually cutting them down and getting the best ones printed to form my travel log.

It's a pretty long process and so far I've only done Beijing and part of our time in Osaka so I still have the whole Australia part to go! But I thought I would do a little post of how it's looking so far, it's basically just pictures, tickets, receipts and then a whole lot of coloured paper. But I've been enjoying making it and it's sort of taken over all my spare time in the past few months.

Today was my first day of starting my PGCE, I was super nervous this morning and had to be on a train at 6.36am, because the enrolment thing started at 8.15! Luckily tomorrow I won't be on a train until 7.06am :P But my first day was really good and I met some lovely people although I think this year is going to be really tough! Role on 9 months time when I'm qualified and can sleep again!! But yes good first day, although I did manage to spill hot tea all over my hand within the first 2 hours of arriving. Oops.

This is my current wishlist on Artbox, (Plus a whole load more I just added whilst getting the links, oops) I could honestly go crazy on this website and spend a ridiculous amount of money. Especially as I start university again on Monday for my PGCE and you know, the start of a new school year means getting loads of cute new stationary! My English teacher once told me 'Being a Teacher is all about the cute stationary!' And she is so right!

In reality however, I was a little more sensible and bought sensible items of stationary, like above. Along with a some coloured writing pens and a small pencil case to carry around with me. A head for heights?
I have a few quirks, some of which have been mentioned by Laura before, the list writing being a big one. I also know exactly where everything in my house is, always. But probably the most strange is how I'm attracted to heights even though I'm scared of them. I love sitting at the top of double deckers, climbing trees, dangling my feet from balconies.. All of that good stuff. The reason? Well I don't know that it's the reason but I always imagine it gives me the view a giraffe would have :) it's also great for people watching! Which is an occurrence in my daily life.. people make me laugh.

Talking to Strangers

It embarrasses me. It embarrasses people I'm with ("WHY did you have to tell the waiter about your dirty tissue Claire"). It embarrasses the people I subject my nonsense to. I'm not the weirdo who hangs around the bus station waiting for a conversation as such, but I just seem to expect everyone else to be happy enough to talk in Clairespeak too, I forget there are STRANGER BOUNDARIES. I've discussed whether birds can do Maths on a train, I've tried to talk to a bus driver in a big city. I still cringe. And it's utterly uncontrollable. So if you find yourself stood next to a rather nervous girl who starts babbling to you about unicycles, please just appease them by not running away or looking very scared. They're probably just nervous. And if they're going bright red too then it's probably me, so say hello too.

Let's Get Arranging

This is such a tough one for me as I have far too many little quirks. The reason I know this is because my boy reminds me pretty much everyday of some silly thing that I constantly do yet I don't really realise i'm doing it! I have a huge obsession with arranging things. This can be anything from my craft bits and bobs to my underwear. It doesn't even stop there... I have been known to do it in other peoples homes. I will even plan what I am going to do a day or two before and spend my whole evening arranging! I know, that is such a sad thing to admit but I find it quite therapeutic :) I guess you could call it feng shui? Well, an obsessive feng shui at that! Right, on that note, lets get arranging!

Nail Art: Paint Splatter effect

So here's 3 weeks worth of nail art all rolled in to one post, I thought what the heck? Seeing as they're the same style anyway. I found youtube and now I can't find it, but basically all I did was go back to my childhood days of painting. Fine a thin straw, dip it in some nail polish so the end is covered and then blow through the other end. It's pretty messy but I think it gives a really cool design, especially if you use a few different colours like in the second picture up there.

I've been doing my weeks placement at a first school this week, lots of laminating, cutting, sticking and display board styling. Are you all having a good week?

Firstly before I carry on with this post I just want to say that all my thoughts are with those affected by the devastating events that happened ten years ago today. I still remember exactly what I was doing that day when it came on the news, so I can't event imagined the effect it had on people closer to it all happening. My thoughts are with you all today.

This is an outfit from a couple days ago, I went into town to have one of those fish pedicure things? You know? I can't remember exactly what they're called, but you all know what I'm talking about, I'm sure. It was pretty cool actually, considering I'm on of those people who hates going in the seas abroad because I don't want to feel a fish swim past my feet!

I didn't actually wear these heels into town, but I got them a few months ago and I wanted to wear them in ready for the autumn so I can wear them more, so I spent the rest of the day trotting (not literally) round the house in them. They are actually super comfy. So now I just got to find some places to wear them.

Hope you're all having a good, relaxing weekend! I've been taking practise maths tests, because I have to pass a maths, English and ICT test on my PGCE and I haven't done Maths for 6 years! Yikes. The first test actually scared to me death but they're getting easier now as I'm improving and remembering things.

These pictures are old! From July in fact, I found them amongst my photo's yesterday and realised I hadn't got round to posting these and as I like this design, I thought I'd put them up. It's not as if nail art can go out of date anyways. These pictures were obviously taken before I got a chance to clean my nails up, why I did that? Who knows! They obviously look way better when they are all neatened up!

Anyway the reason I love this effect is because, look how long it makes me nails look! They were pretty long anyway, but this just makes them look even longer. I remember showing them to my Dad, (yes I show my nail art to my Dad and he feigns interest!) and he said 'are they real? They look like false nails!' No Dad they're all mine but the vertical line just makes them look longer... and more fake for some reason.

I had a lovely 'coffee' date the other day, and I also brought a bunch of stationary items ready for starting back at university. I think the best thing about each new academic year is buying the stationary!

I'm currently enjoying my last week of freedom before I do my week's school placement and then start my PGCE and any social life I hold goes out the window for a year. (How do I get myself into these things?) Anyway this outfit, is actually mostly new stuff, you know when you buy things and then 'have' to wear them. These trousers are the ultimate in comfort and I don't think you can see but they're actually cord trousers and are so soft and honestly I want about 5 pairs just so I can live in them all week long.

I won this necklace in a competition over at Heather's blog and I've had my eye on it for a while so I was super excited to get it through the post, and Lisa from Dainty Roses packaged it up so well with a little string bow on the top. So cute.

Now it's raining and I'm off to meet a couple friends in town for a coffee.. I don't actually like coffee but you know you don't really say 'Lets meet for a tea' do you? 'Lets meet for a coffee' flows better. Although I'm pretty sure it'll be a hot chocolate I go for :)

Exploring the English Countryside

So I mentioned last week I was off to see the boyfriend in his new home and explore the surrounding area. So I thought I would show you some pictures of our adventures. We looked all around the little village and they have the cutest houses, with wooden beams and thatched roofs and massive gardens! We also went to the nature reserve near buy and climbed a huge hill (where I realised how unfit I am) but the view was pretty gorgeous.

Plus as you can see we spent lots of time sitting with his sisters ducks at the bottom of the garden trying to persuade them to get into the stream. They are so cute!! I took a zillion pictures of them but I've just put the better ones up otherwise this would be another duck focused post.

I had a lovely time, I was nice to spend so much time with Jake after not seeing him for two months. Now I'm back home and it's time to get organised for my PGCE which starts in a couple weeks.

Neil Gaiman - The Graveyard Book
Yes this is a children's book, I hate to read it ready for my PGCE - I don't just randomly read children's books when I feel like it! Although saying that, I actually loved this book, it was so imaginative and gripping that I was constantly wanting to read more and struggled to put it down. So maybe it is time to go back to reading children's books after all.

Adele Parks - Young Wives' tales
I love Adele Parks books, especially with the way this book is almost 3/4 stories in one. As the chapters rotate through different character's perspectives. The only problem I find with this is that I warm to certain characters and their stories more so therefore skim read certain one real quick just so I can jump back to my favourite storyline. All in all though another great novel.

Things I Love: Ducks

As you could probably tell by my duck tattoo's I have a liking for ducks. I just think they are absolutely amazingly awesome - how could you not think those little yellow ducklings are the cutets animals ever? And ever since friend and family caught on to my liking for ducks my room seems to have been taken over with duck items. Duck jewellerry, duck shower cap, duck mini hoover, duck watering can, duck soft toys, designer ducks (You know the rubber ducks with the funky designs!), duck t-shirts and duck slippers. It goes on and on! But I can't complain, ducks are just too awesome!

So what's your favourite 'thing'? I always find people have a certain liking for specific items, Hello Kitty maybe? Or a friend of mine really likes stars. What's yours?

Cupcake frenzy

So last week I decided to spend the morning making cupcakes, and I thought I'd share with you my creations. I'm not really a cake fan, as in I'd rather eat the uncooked mixture and roll out icing seperately rather than the cooked finished product. DIY: Bookmarks

I thought I would just show you all these quick DIY bookmarks that I made. Basically I have started and not finished a lot of books and often read a couple at a time so I always need more bookmarks and I can never find one. So I started using paper clips, and then thought I'd just jazz them up a bit using the leftovers parts from my DIY rings.

Today/this evening I'm off for a 3 hour drive to visit my boy, it's been 2 months so I am super excited - not for the long drive though. Boring! But I have snacks and some good CD's burned so that should get me though. I'm away for a week and I'll be exploring as my boys just moved to a new village in the middle of the countryside which sounds beyond perfect.

I have posts planned, I won't be abandoning the blog for a week, but I have you all have a good one anyway.

These are my nails from last week I think or the week before, I have so many designs that's I've photographed now I can't remember which are from what week. Anyway they are supposed to look like worn denim or tie dye. I'm not really sure if they do or not I just like the effect. I followed this youtube tutorial and it was really easy to do!

And for those mentioning the print on my blouse from the last outfit post, it's a little hard to work out even in real life, but it's basically (from what I can work out) beach scenes, people and boats and small shops :)

Hello scheduled post, as I'm working my last shift right now. These pictures are from Thursday, my Mum and I went out shopping and I actually had brogues on but we had really bad flash floods in my area that day. It even made the national news! I've never seen so much rain ever, the shops were flooding, loads of roads were closed and we had trouble getting home. But we finally made it, even though the road across was mine was flooded and shut off by the Police. Anyway my point being my brogues were soaked, so I switched to these and I actually don't mind how they look with these trousers.

Have you all had a good week? Yesterday I did some baking, I'll posts some pics soon I'm sure. Currently working through my last ever shift at work and looking forward to seeing my boy next week. Anyone else got any exciting plans?

New love: New Bag

So for today's post I thought I would show you all my new bag, which I got from River Island last week. I was in search of a new bag for University and I had quite a few requirements regarding size/quality/pockets and was really pleased when I spotted this one in RI and loved the material, with the majority of the bag being made from a cord material. So I headed home measured up my folders/netbook searched on their websites for the sizes and then the next day I snapped it up in Southampton RI.

The only problem is, is that now I have it I want to use it NOW. I'm forcing myself to hold off until I start University again though otherwise it'll be wrecked before I start! What are your favourite purchases from this month? Or anything you've got your eye on?

Mycophobia: For me, it's more difficult trying to pick out just one quirk of mine - not because I am this really 'wacky' person, but because I seem to spend most of my time investing energy into trying to be normal! One of the things people seem to find hilarious about me is that I am afraid of mushrooms. I literally cannot be around mushrooms (especially cooked ones) without freaking out. To say that they disgust me would be an understatement; to me they are like horrible furry slugs and the thought of eating one just turns my stomach. My friends used to joke that one day they would turn my car aerial into a 'mushroom kebab' - luckily they haven't done it yet!

Singing through the instrumentals of songs: Yes, I'm that annoying person in the room that insists on singing the melodies and instrumentals in songs! I cannot help myself! Whilst others choose to silently air guitar through epic guitar solos and eye watering instrumentals; I decide to start singing the instruments. It's usually more prominent when in a room filled with the sounds of rock 'n' roll classics but I've been known to stand in a club singing along to the epic basslines and drops. Does this make me annoying? Does this make me a little bit of a weirdo? You'll have to decide because I'm too busy singing guitar chords.

Clean Freak: I'm a bit of a clean freak, no Monica Gellar but it sometimes comes close. My main tidy freakiness is with clothes. All my t shirts, leggings, vests etc are all folded away super neatly in their draws, now that might be classed as normal but what about socks and underwear?! Yep my socks are all neatly folded into piles, as are my pants and my bras are lined up in rows in between! Haha. I can not just throw things in a draw!! I think I've got it off my mum, she's taught me to fold and I know it's going to stay with me forever!

Crazy memory for music lyrics: I've always had a strange ability to remember song lyrics! I only need to hear a song once or twice before I know the words off by heart. I even learnt my math times tables through a music cassette that sung them all out in a mixture of raps/ballads - I went from one day knowing none of my times tables to suddenly having them all in my head by simply remembering them through the song. Although it proved rather counter productive in mental math tests when I'd have to sing out the full song in my head before I could reach the answer for 6x6.

DIY: More Origami

Yes more origami for you all to see, I tend to end up making one or two if I get bored in the evenings or if a film I'm watching if rubbish! It's actually quite fun, although sometimes I have to re-watch the tutorial I'm watching 3 times just to work out exactly how they have folded the paper.

I had a lovely time in Bristol yesterday, I really was amazed at how big the shopping centre was! It was so lovely to meet all the lovely girls and thanks Rosie for spending a ridiculous amount of hours stuck on a train with me :P

More nail art! Are you guys sick of them yet? I just can't stop doing my nails every 5 days or so I look at them and think 'time for a change!'. These remind me of ladybugs, I know wrong colours but... that's just what pops into my head.

These were pretty easy to do, although laying the scotch tape across your nail and making sure it's straight always seems to be an issue for me! Plus how hard is it to find a decent white nail polish? This one takes 3 coats (admittedly it's from a gift set and cheap) but I can't seem to find any white nail polishes that will cover well in less than 3 coats. Any recommendations?

Lush: Volcano Foot Mask

I don't normally do reviews on cosmetic type products but I felt like it, so here goes. I tried out the Lush Volcano Foot Mask because well you know we all have those horrible patches of hard skin from wearing flip flops and sandals for much. I've tried other products and they really made little difference and I just left it for ages, but then I thought, you got to look after your feet, time to test another product.

So I followed the instruction, slap on the foot mask, wrap on cling film/plastic bag, leave on for ten minutes, massage into foot and rinse. And I was actually really impressed, obviously it's no miracle cure, it doesn't get rid of it all in one go, or even two. But I could see where it had worked into the hard skin (without getting to gross) and my feet definitely feel softer. It's definitely something that you have to keep working at, one go isn't going to solve it or even a few goes and them leaving it. I have ended up doing this once a week for about 3 weeks now and have seen quite an improvement.

Now can I have some summer weather so I can wear sandals and show off my soft feet? Thanks.

I don't really want to mention the events of the past few nights in England too much, we all have our views and if you follow me on twitter you'll know how I feel. I just want to say that I hope you're all stayed safe and haven't been too affected.

Uniqlo is one of my favourite brands to browse online, I brought my boys lots of t-shirts from there for his birthday. Recently they put together a group of t-shirts designed by lots of different famous people from Lady Gaga to Orlando Bloom. All of which are to raise money for Japan after the events that happened earlier in the year. I was over in south Japan a week after it all happened and so I really wanted to show my support by buying a t-shirt. This design is by Charlize Theron, I just feel in love with the quote when I saw it. In case you can't read it properly it says 'It is in the most difficult moments that we show our bravest self.' So I sent my boy off to the uniqlo shop in London on his lunch break and now I have my t-shirt.

Anyway enough about that, how has your weekends been? I worked mine and the last night we had this crazy thunderstorm, I've not seen/heard that much thunder/lightening/rain in years. Any plans for this week girls?

What's in my bag?

I've been meaning to do one of these posts for ages, I know some people think they're a little over done but I LOVE reading these posts. So firstly the bags themselves, these are the first two that I am currently switching between, the first is from Primark and the second New Look. Now as for what;s in my bag...

1- Kleenex wet wipes (All the way from Australia) I went through a ridiculous amount of these whilst travelling and I just find them so handy to have.
2 - My diary - for obvious reasons
3 - Notebook, I have mentioned before I need lists and this is full of them
4 - Book I'm currently reading, this one is for my PGCE course
5 - Impulse body spray
6 - Purse - my boy got me this last year and I am just in love with the design.
7 - Panda case - originally I think it was advertised as a camera case but I use it to hold my beast of an iPod. Although I'm not sure why this is still in my bag as my iPod (Harry) is currently keeping my boy company of his London commutes as his own iPod broke.
8 - My phone... yes my phone is inside that little fluffy thing. I really don't know what to call it. I got it in China and it attaches like a phone charm and then you're phone just sort of sits inside to protect it.
9 - Mini bag which holds lots of hair clips, slips and bands
10 - Hand Sanitizer.
11 - Vaseline - I mostly carry this because I have really sensitive eyes and so they water really easy but a little dab of this on the outside corners of my eyes and it stops them streaming down my face and taking my mae-up with me
12 - Compact mirror
13 - Headphones - again need to take them out, they're pretty useless without the iPod
14 - Tissues
15 - Pens. For all my list making needs
16 - Lipbalm/lipstick/vicks. (I actually wondered where the Vicks had gone)

So there we go everything that I carry around with me, although obviously I have to downsize this when I switch to the smaller bag. :P

More nail designs, this time inspired by this design that I first spotted on tumblr and then spent a while browsing through the blog too. I love these colours together so summery, plus this it's quite a simple design so you get to see lots of the background silver colour. I don't have much else to say on these really, I just used the dotty tool for the whole design.

Conan Doyle - Sherlock Holmes 'A study in Scarlet' and 'The sign of the Four'
It is no great secret that I am becoming a bit of a Holmes fan, ever since my third year of University where I had to read detective novels for the first time and found myself actually enjoying them. These are the lastest to novels of Sherlock Holmes I've have '(Not the graphic novel as the pictures tell although they kind of make me want to read them!) I can't fault these stories, I think they are pure brilliance. I don't think you can comment on detective work until you're read the tales of Sherlock Holmes.

Keeping up with the Kardashians
I know I'm pretty (massively) far behind with this one, but I was always really sceptical about watching it, I thought I'd honestly hate it. But you know there is no GG, 90210 or OTH to keep me entertained atm so I though 'why not?' And I actually ended up watching the whole lot this month, every episode and I'm not keeping up with it weekly! Don't judge a book by it's cover... or rather TV show by it's advertisements.

Another series that I am WAY behind on. Whilst the boy and I were in Australia we caught an episode of this one evening and I was literally wetting myself. I don't know how I missed this when it was first out over here but alas I did, however within 3 days I was fulling up to date. I absolutely love this, it's hilarious, I was giggling away to myself like a crazy person all alone in my room in the middle of the night, trying not to laugh out loud whilst my parents are asleep. Brilliance, I just wish there were more series.

Rusted Summer Days

This outfit is a combination of my combination of my recent purchases I seem to be in love with this rust colour at the moment it's not so easy to match with other colours but I'm enjoying the challenge or not having navy or black trousers/jeans. Both the top and shoes are from the River Island sale, I loved these shoes when I first saw them but couldn't justify the price tag but when I saw them in the sale for less than half the price I snapped them up.

I'm having a bit of a busy week, working 5 days as I agree to an extra late shift (working until midnight, boo!) I had a dentist check-up and a hair appointment so today is my only day of doing nothing. Or rather day of catching up on things like blogs, writing, reading and scrapbooking.

So I couldn't think up any more quirks so therefore I thought it was about time I hunted down a few of my favourite bloggers and find out what their quirks are. This was going to be a one of post, but I have so many fave bloggers I might have to make it into a little series, so here's the first installment.

Everything in abundance: I have an incessant need to do everything and to do everything at once. Whether it is book reading and buying - I've been known to buy six books in one purchase and place a deadline on when I should have read them by! - or chain-watching Chinese/Korean dramas and Anime for a solid ten hours, I love to start something and I won't stop until it's finished!

Humming snippets of well known movie and TV soundtracks throughout the day to accompany my actions.For example: When I’m all motivated to get a task done, it’s the A Team theme. When I’ve accomplished or completed something, I turn to The Lord of the Rings. When I’m challenging someone or if something’s a little bit sinister, I belt out a bit of the SAW music. Anything a little bit mysterious or something I just can’t explain gets a Harry Potter hum…Oh and if I’m excited about something, I’ll add it into the Fun House theme tune – “Nandos, whole lot of fun, prizes to be won…”My boyfriend assures me that it's not actually as annoying as it sounds! Haha. It’s like second nature to me now though and most of the time I don’t actually realise I’m doing it.

Dislike of opening cans. I think I have quite a few little quirks but one I've only just recently realised is that I absolutely hate hate hate opening drinks cans. It makes me shudder having to use my fingernails to pull up the little metal thingy & the noise it makes just sounds too abrupt and ick, it's just awful! If you asked me why I hate it so much I wouldn't be able to tell you, but every time I have to open a can I make a squished up face as if I had just been forced to eat half of an incredibly bitter lemon!

Charlotte - Girl Next Door Fashion

Checking the time in films. One of my weird quirks is that whenever I watch a TV show or movie and there's a clock in the background, I always check what time it is and see if it correlates with what's going on in the scene. It's one of those little things I probably picked up from reading about movie mistakes too much as a kid, but now I can't not look!! I love it when it's wrong!!

I live in a seaside town and it wasn't until I left for 3 years during University and lived right in the middle of the country that I realised how much I love seaside towns. Whether it's sunny or raining, misty or windy there is something that draws me to them. A few of these pictures above that I found are actually of where I live.

I don't just like living in a seaside town I love visiting other ones too, especially the small little village/towns that in close one beach or harbour. I'm pretty sure these pictures show you exactly why I love them, so I'll just ask you all, where is your favourite seaside town? I always need places to visit!

About a month ago I found this nail art somehow and I thought the design was so cool, and I spent hours browsing her blog, seriously guys check it out she's pretty much a scotch tape pro! She also has some wicked tutorials, and I decided to give this one a go!

The tutorials was really easy to follow and apart from the fact that I'm not good at getting all the lightening strikes to look the same on each finger they came out okay! Also Models Own are my fave polishes to do tips with as they seem to be more hard wearing.

I really like this design, and when I get the time I really want to try some of Jane's more complicated tutorials . Oh and don't forget to enter my giveaway ladies!

I dug these photo's out from a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to do an outfit post today but really I'm having a lazy day so therefore you're getting old pictures. I do love this outfit though, it's really comfortable and I love the vintage look to this blouse.

I also love these little sock type things (I don't actually know what they are called) I got them whilst I was travelling because it was like EVERY lady was wearing a pair, and they were super cheap so I thought I'd give them a go. I've now seen them creeping over here which is great, but I love them, they are perfect for those flat shoes that you LOVE but can't wear for long periods of time because they start hurting.

This blog posts is actually taking me hours to write, I always get so easily distracted. So I'll leave it here, hope you're all well.

Outfit round-up

So I'm pretty sure I saw a similar thing on someone else's blog a while but I'm rubbish and I can't remember who's blog it was, I tried looking but couldn't find it, so if it was your blog let me know and I'll link you.

I thought I would do a round-up of outfit posts as it's the only post type that has been going since the start of my blog, it's kind of weird to look back on them all, and see a few outfits that I now want to wear again but they'd been forgotten about. I actually dug the shorts out from that first outfit post and wore them yesterday, possibly for the first time since that post. How bad is that? I have too many clothes!

Anyway it's pretty cool to look back on my outfits, and I notice lately I've taken to posing with my arms in the air :S No idea why. I think my favourite outfit is actually the leather shorts one just under 'outfit posts', it's quite similar and I just think it works. What's your favourite one?

DIY: Origami Crane Mobile

A few weeks a go there was a really awesome picture going around of a origami crane mobile, I thought it was a really fab idea as did the lovely Michelle . So I got on youtube and searched a video on how to make an origami crane and found that they actually weren't that hard to make. So then headed to amazon and ordered myself some gorgeous origami paper for only a few quid.

I didn't really know how many cranes to make, and to start with they were taking me quite a while, but I got used to making them so just went until I got bored. (11 in total). Then I sewed them all together and bugged my Dad to pin them up for me as he can reach far easier than myself. Ta-dah. My origami crane mobile, what do you guys think? It's sat just above my desk, and sometimes I get distracted and start spinning them... anyway.

I've started making other origami items too, it's quite fun and relaxing, are any of you origami pro's?

Nail Art: Sponge effect

So I tried this sponging effect on my nails last week and I think they came out okay. It was a little tricky to do, making sure I didn't have too much polish on the sponge and also not too little. I used all the colours in the order they appear in the top picture, and actually the next day after these pictures were taken I added glitter over the top but I never got a picture. But I think the glitter looked really good over the top of the sponge effect.

Anyone else tried this effect before? I'm not exactly happy with how it came out which is why I put the glitter on, think I need a bit more practice with the sponge!

Quirks 3

Always knowing the time. I always need to know the time, I don't always wear a watch but I do normally always have my phone on me and I'm constantly checking the time. Sometimes I forget to wear a watch to work and I feel completely lost, like I have no concept of how long I have left to go which is so daunting. The other day I forgot both a watch and phone when I went into town and literally every time I paid for something in a shop I'd ask the sales assistant what the time is!

I never shut my drawers. If I look over to my chest of drawers right now not a single drawer is completely shut! They aren't hanging crazy open, cause I'd end up knocking my legs on them, but none of them are shut completely, I don't know why I just have a habit of not shutting them, laziness possibly.

I cut the labels out of all my clothes. Not because I'm ashamed of where I shop but labels make me itch, they irritate and my worst nightmare is going out for the day and a label starting to irritate my skin and not having any scissors to get the annoying this out with. The only problem with this is when I do outfit posts I have to rack my brains for where the items are from.

Coming to the end of this little series of posts, there's only so many quirks one person can have! Hope you're enjoying it so far.

This outfit was from just before all the gorgeous weather hit, did all you ladies in the UK enjoy the weather? Sadly I worked through most of it but I managed to catch a few hours both afternoons. I took my dog down the park/beach and it was so rammed with people it was crazy, but it was so nice to be able go out in shorts without the fear of freezing.

This is a pretty basic outfit, I just threw the top on over the dress because I'm obsessed with this top right now. How cute are the glasses necklace? I thought it was so cute when I saw it, but now I do question whether wearing 2 pairs of glasses is a bit OTT.

Robbie Williams - You Know Me.

I am a huge Robbie Williams fan it's no secret, I have never a Take That fan (Sorry girls) Robbie however is a different story. So I put this down on my Christmas list as soon as saw it advertised and luckily someone brought it for me! Anyway it's full of pictures right from when he was young up until recently, and has him telling little stories about each pictures, it was really nice to read and quite interesting (If you're a Robbie fan).

The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 3/4 - Sue Townsend.

A friend lent me this book (We tend to swap books to save some £££ on buying new books - plus it means we can have a good gossip about the ones we've both read!) as she said the main character Adrian Mole reminder her of a mutual friend of ours. (She was completely right) I read it in one sit in, it's not the most lengthy of books, but it's still a few hundred pages and I was completely addicted. It's funny and light-hearted and dramatic (teenagers!) and just really fun to read. There's more in the series and I really need to get my hands on them!

Sally Hansen Hard as Nails

So quite a few of you spotted (excuse the pun) these nails in this outfit post but I've only just got around to posting about them. These were crazy easy to do, and I really love how they turned out. I brought my dotty pens from ebay, I know there are loads of tips out there for other things you can use, but honestly I paid like a few quid including postage, and now I have a variety of different sizes for doing designs like these.

I really love the summery yellow in contrast with the black and then the subtle addition of a shimmer. I don't have these nails any more but I was actually slightly gutted about having to get the nail varnish remover on them, but after a week they were starting to cheap and look scruffy.

On another note I reached 250 followers a few days a go (Someone will so disappear now!) which is awesome, thank you so much!! Also in a couple weeks time it'll be my 1 year blog-anniversary, so I'm planning a little giveaway - stay tuned!
